Hannah & Evan’s

Proposal Story-

Hannah and Evan set out from Austin, TX in a sprinter van, headed for the mountains with a playlist ready and so much excitement for the trip ahead. Their first major stop was the magical town of Santa Fe, NM, where they arrived just in time to stroll through the historic Plaza, soaking in the art, culture, and charm.

After picking up a few essentials in town, they ventured into the mountains—about an hour outside of Santa Fe—to find a campsite in Pecos Canyon State Park. That evening, they grilled over an open fire, played music under the stars, and felt like the only people for miles.

The next morning, before the sun had even fully risen, Evan had a plan. He knew the exact place he wanted to propose. He told Hannah they were heading to a prime fly fishing spot. She was excited and unsuspecting, especially because it was 5:30 in the morning and they still had to pack up and get to the area.

With Hannah casting her line in the river, Evan slipped away to the van. He returned not just with his fishing rod—but with the ring and their sweet dog, Nori, wearing a bandana that read, “Will you marry me?”

Right there in the middle of the river, Evan proposed. It was private, heartfelt, and perfect—just the two of them (and Nori). With no cell service, they celebrated with a few hours of fishing and a little Agazul tequila for breakfast.

That evening, they returned to Santa Fe to call and share the happy news with friends and family. A surprise photo shoot followed, and they capped the night with a celebratory dinner at Geronimo’s, one of their favorite restaurants in town.

Their journey continued to South Fork, CO, where they met up with family friends Bonnie and David. From there, they ATV’d through Creede, a historic mining town, picked wild raspberries along the road, and took pictures with the beautiful aspens turning golden.

They found another perfect campsite beside the Rio Grande National Forest, where they cooked over an open fire again and washed dishes in the river. That peaceful evening became one of their most cherished memories.

Next came a fly fishing adventure Evan had planned—a 4-hour rafting trip that turned into 8 hours of catching fish, even through the rain. The fish never stop biting.

Finally, they made their way to Morrison, CO, where they saw Tanya Tucker open for Charley Crockett at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. The music, the views, and the atmosphere made for the perfect grand finale to a perfect trip.

Now, they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with their closest friends and family—back where it all began: Santa Fe.

Because yes… Santa Fe is for lovers.
